Default Acrobatic Dodge

A figure may use their Acrobatics talent to enhance their Dodge option. If they do so roll an additional die to hit (i.e. if 3/DX normally, and 4/DX with standard dodge, then this would be 5/DX to hit.) This must be declared and is obvious to all who see it. GMs may require players to state what it is they are using their Acrobatics to do during this turn.

Otherwise the same as the standard dodge option and can't be combined with bonuses from other talents such as Unarmed Combat or Shield/Weapon Expertise. If nobody shoots at the figure then it still loses its action for the turn by showing off.

I think it would be simpler to give anyone with Acrobatics the effect of a free Dodge without having to take the option. Rather than stacking a bonus for Dodge with a bonus for Acrobatics. 5d6 to hit is so awfully impossible.

The reason for forcing the action is to defend against adjDX 17 Flingers without needing Weapons Expertise.

It's not a crazy idea. It does depend a bit on what you imagine Acrobatics to represent. I don't think it's just being agile, a high DX does that. Is it a particular kind of agility? If I saw a character with high DX next to a character with high DX and Acrobatics would I maybe be seeing a difference like, "The one on the right does things that look really hard, whereas the one on the left just makes it look easy and happens to always be in the right place"? If so, is that particular kind of agility relevant to dodging? I don't know and it probably needs thought.

And the tail wags the dog with enthusiasm. Seriously if flingers are broken (as I admit they are at least to some extent, as are archers) then change flingers.

If they're blatantly AI, rather than possibly a clueless human, report them straight away.

Also, please don't quote the link: that allows it to do its search engine "optimisation", which is really spamming, even when the original post has been removed.
