I specifically recall McCaffrey when she was a guest on an episode of "Hour 25" saying Fire Lizards were essentially housecats that flew and could breathe fire. IQ 7 is too high.

I'm glad to see that Powers are helping to make some old threads come back to like. Since you changed your original post did this make them cheaper?

Housecats in here books are VERY intelligent, as I said Melody's ones assent independent though and teamwork in fetching her Pipes, of Course her fair is lend by a Queen she has impressed. Then there is Wild Queen that laid her fair, that 'forced' Melody into helping save her clutch form the extrem high tide.

There is also the fact they there are also designed to work as Familiars and B38 says the should have at least IQ6.

But the main reason I'm bring this thread back... I just realiszed they probably should have Cannot Speak [-15] as well.

as impressed (Psi) Familiars, would the be Constantly or 15- Availabilities?

Would their Mindlink and Warp ability require them to be bought as Summonable?

Their Telescan and Breath Weapon probably make them count as Special Abilities.

Can the Take Dead Broke with the Social Stigma (Valuable Property)?

The Special Abilities modifier for Ally is only applicable if the Ally grants the character (not the Ally character) special abilities. It allows the character (not the Ally) to buy advantages with the Granted By Familiar (-40%) modifier.

No Grants you is only ONE of the reason in basic for it, other is the ALLIE has extensive political clout or access to High TL than your own..... abilites who point total does not quite reflect

but reading further, IT just have the exotic abilities is not enough... Well that will help 8)

Though there is one thing they do grant you for sure, Mindlink.

Regarding Intelligence: Perhaps Impressed Firelizards could get a +1 bump to their intelligence from their human partner? The act of being Mind-linked to a much more intelligent being could help them out.

Forgive me if this has already been addressed. I searched for "Extra legs" and did not find the term.

Since the firelizards and Pern dragons are derived from a hexapodal creature (six legs: two wings and 4 legs), shouldn't both write ups have the advantage Exrta-legs (4 legs)?

No. Flight (Wings) [30] is all you need to do. and Semi-Upright [-5] covers the fact that that while normaly move on the ground like a quadrapend, then can 'sit up' and you the for-claws much like a bare.
