Default Need help with Nihon invasion of San Francisco

The typical OGRE maps S1-S3 and G1-G3 are mostly clear terrain.
This Nihon invasion of San Francisco is either deep water or city terrain with not a lot of terrain in between. As seen in the scenario map, Forest (55 hexes) and clear terrain (12 hexes) are present but sparse.
Attacking Paneuropeans: 306vp
20 squads of infantry, 40vp
1 Mark V OGRE, 150vp
10 armored units, 60vp
1 frigate, 56vp
Defending Combine: 316vp
30 squads of infantry, 60vp
1 Mark III OGRE, 100vp
17 armored units, 102vp
2 naval boats, (27vp each), 54vp together

So, what mix of units should the Attacking Paneuropeans and Defending Combine take?

Should the battle stay on the water or will urban warfare dominate this scenario?

My personal take on this scenario is to invest in a lot of GEVs and GEV-APCs to get infantry to the other two CPs that are not on the peninsula. The OGRE and naval frigate can cover them as they do so.

- Thanks to Keith Johnson and his daughter, Danica, for giving us a 4-part printable map of San Francisco to battle on.

Marine infantry, GEV PC and GEV for attackers. If you play with variants the infamous Missle GEV seems an ideal amphibious assault support weapon. Maybe give defenders a few light tanks to cover some of the approaches.

I did the map in OgreMap because lovely as the original map is I had a hard time "seeing" the terrain and wanted a translation.

It's a good version, arguably hex 1013 would be clear. I don't know if you want to model Highway 1 at this scale, it's only 2 lanes. It would run south along the coast from hex 0416 to the southern end of the map.

Good job! I'm glad to see the map maker is still getting some use.

I followed the scenario map, 1013 on that is unambiguously water.

Thank you very much for coding OgreMap. I actually had to dig around for it, my bookmark was dead! The classic GEV map is a beautiful iconic design (thanks Denis Loubet) and being able to "paint" in it is a pleasure.
