Default How do you calculat ksf?

How do you calculate ksf?

I'm trying to learn more spreadsheet functions and decided to try making a spreadsheet that generates ships in LibreOffice Calc (with "Form Controls").

I tried the ff:
surface area = ((((dtons*500)^(1/3))^2)*6)/1000 from Gurps vehicles and a function that allows me to round off to two significant digits.

and It doesnt seem to be the same formula

That is the correct formula for Gurps Vehicles, what are you comparing it to specifcally? The table in Starships won't match exactly because the streamlining rules modify the hull size. Blame it on the strange streamlining rules in Vehicles.

Figured it out, the clue was in structure costs and modifications: Sphere had x1 area modifier and x1 cost modifier. It also worked

=(4*(PI())* ((((dtons*500)/(4/3))/(PI()))^(1/3))^2)/1000

gets the radius through volume, and uses radius to get surface area
