ATM the GM is being fairly loose with Guns, as long as it is a CPR Small Arm (so no BAR's) and he thinks you are familiar you are good. Dan owns a Colt M1917, is checked out on the M1903 & M1911 and had used a Tommygun with penalties. he has also shot one of the Invaders "Rocket Guns" (Gyro-jet Rifle) at Default and picked up a "Ray Pistol" that he uses at Default.

If it was acquired before the invasion Gunner(Machineguns) needs some explanation.

There are several possibilities. Spendign his summer vacations running supplies ot the Paraguayans in the Chaco War would be one.

He is a Army Air Core ROTC Officer, he has Gunner, Flight Engineer, Radio Operator, Navigator and Co-Pilot Wings, the coming Weekend he was to test for his Pilots Wings, but plans changed. he is also a licensed Civilian Pilot.

That's okay if want but from what I know of such programs he'd be lucky to get any actual flying hours out of it much less firing line time. Between wars actual Air Corps pilots got few resopurces.

He has skill level 10 in at least two of those skills, skill level 11 in Navigation. Isn't that a bit low for those qualifications?

He is also the Test pilot for his friends Army R&D project. as we found out 6X.30 Cal dose little to a metal skinned rocket unless you hit it in the Cockpit or Engine, and the 1&1/2 inch rockets we had are too slow to reliability hit air targets but worked a treat in Ground Attack.

Before WWII there were Air ROTC programs at UC Berkeley, Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Washington, the University of Illinois, MIT, and Texas A&M. So in New England that means only at MIT.

Were there athletic scholarships as such before 1950? From 1905 until at least 1939 the National Collegiate Athletic Association amateurism rules insisted that financial aid to students must be needs-based and not contingent upon participation in sports, or else the students would count as professionals.

There where Scholarships reserved for Athletes, but they where not formally Athletic scholarships, they where largely reserved for sports like Skulls, Polo and other upper class sports though there where some for Track, Boxing & Wrestling, they would be officially for "Excellence" so you needed solid Academics as well or it was for Psychical Education so you had to keep up the pretense that you where going in to PE Teaching or Coaching, the "Excellence" ones they normally went to middle-class kids who started Majoring in Pre-Law, Civics (Poli-Sic), Pre-Med, Business or Civil Administration. Many where managed by Frats and Secrete Societies.

As for his Collage we went for a generic "Somewhere in New England" but the Engineering program is almost deferentially associated with MIT.

Because of his Father Dan started out in Civ-Admin, but quickly transferred his major to Engineering and had to take a 2nd major in PE to get a Sports Scholarship because his parents weren't going to pay for a Degree they didn't approve of, couldn't keep his marks up so he transferred to Aviation but had to keep his 2nd major, the Partial Scholarship wasn't going to pay his way so he joined the ROTC to make up the short fall. since his family dose tend to do a term in the army and his parents are a Grate War Vet they have softened and do send him money for cost of living but refuse to pay for classes they don't approve of.
