Accoring to ISW [page 171], in order to properly make a jump FOUR successful skill checks are REQUIRED:
1. Navigation (Space) - to locate the desired jump point 2. Piloting - to maneuver the ship to the jump point 3. Navigation (Hyperspace) - to plot the desired course through jumpspace 4. Mechanic (Jump Drive) - to activate the jumpdrive and make sure that it oerates within necessary parameters. Therefore, we must ensure that one or more crewmembers have all four of the above skills, preferably at a level which will give a substantial probability of success. This is NOT the way that I remember jumpdrives in GDW Traveller working, or even in GURPS Traveller 2nd Edition for that matter, but it is quite cool, I think.
