Fighting multiple monsters as a High Whatever

I'm fighting multiple monsters as a High Halfling. Can I use my High ability and get 2 levels for one monster but still draw treasure for the others? Or is it all the treasure for one level?

I figured I'd post here. This is more of a clarification than anything else.

I was playing with a buddy of mine the other day and he thought that he would look at the treasures THEN decide if he wanted to exchange them for levels. I told him this was not what the card meant. Am I right?

On a side note: Once he tried to only exchange the cards that the didn't want and then get a level. This I definitively told him was illegal as the above post notes.

Decide before drawing the Treasure.
