"Nor have I," Chandra agrees, running her fingers lightly along the spiderweb as she checks for a switch, or a seam, or anything that might be designed to be moved or removed.

If she finds nothing, she takes a few more pictures, wipes it clean with a handkerchief or tissue and then returns it to Gopper. "Thank you very much. You are a prince among scoundrels."

Later, in between classes, she checks the Academy's library to see if she can find anything similar to the device or the pattern on it. (OOC: I'm assuming at least a -1 penalty to Research for an alternate universe with a recent diversion point and at least -2 for unfamiliarity with the subject, though there may be bonuses to offset that depending on how high-quality the Academy's library is. Wold you like me to make the roll, or would you prefer to?)

So might have some idea of what this is, she muses. But I've got to think of just how to approach him with it, so that I don't get expelled or exiled.

OCC: I roll in this game all the time. I just never show it. If you want to see it this time due to its importance, thats fine. Of course, with this roll its hard to know whether the library doesn't have the information or if you rolled too low... but first things first.

Gopper goes to return the bar. As Chandra is leaving the spot she feels the power, this time just buzzing around something and traveling at about the same rate as a human. She looks over and catches a glimpse of Haley Broam moving at a fast walk towards her room-- long before she should be out of class.

Ooc: That's Ok, I tend to do the same thing when I GM. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't holding things up. How far is Haley from Chandra and where are they in relation to each other?

Haley is about 20 yards from both Chandra and the door to the 'dorms', while Chandra is about 30 yards from the dorms. There are wide sidewalks on all angles of the triangle they form, and a patch of grass with a tree in the center and several benches on the inside of the sidewalks.

OK, that picture of the triangle helps. Using the clock face for directions, where are the door and Haley in relation to Chandra? For example, is Haley at 7 o'clock, behind and to the left? At 2 o'clock, a bit ahead and to the right? (It may seem picky, but the positioning might help me pick the best way to interrupt a hurrying cadet.)

Haley is walking towards the door, Chandra is walking away...

Which means that if chandra is facing 12 clock the door is at 6 and miss broam is at 4:30. She wouldn't have noticed miss Broam at all without the extra sense.

And last question, since I'm not always sure on the timing. Is Haley's current pace going to get her to the room before Gopper can reach it, or while he's still in there?

OOC: Yes, I'm still alive! One last question (yeah, right) in this endless series. Is Chandra carrying anything that is easily fumbled and scattered, like coins, or a (soon-to-be-broken) necklace, or a boxful of pencils, or anything similar?
