[IC] Lost in Dreams [Elijah]

This leads to more muttering, and everyone is clearly perplexed.

"Perhaps it shall." Shaman says quietly. "Stone, take care of this big head until we can gather the camp heads, and he can choose one. "

Slays Beasts looks startled "What about the fire mountain? We cannot wait!"

Stone gives Slays Beasts a hard look. Shaman turns his back to Elijah "Would you have me rush the spirits? Take an unclear omen?"

[Talosian]

"Uh. What's going on? Who can choose what?" Elijah looks back and forth between Slays Beasts and Shaman, clearly confused.

[ericthered]

Shaman speaks quickly, cutting off Slays Beasts "We were looking for an boon from the fire mountain. You are certainly an omen, but not clear enough to be the boon. Slays Beasts wishes to assume you are the boon. He feels it is urgent."

[Talosian]

"What kind of a boon? Why are all the camp heads being gathered?"

[ericthered]

"To decide which one you will live with."

[Talosian]

"Oh. How many camps are there? What boon did you ask of the fire mountain?"

[ericthered]

Shaman looks a little upset. Slays Beasts stands up.

"The tribe of Dog lives by hunting. I Slay Beasts, and the men of the tribe help me. The women make clothing and axes from the kills, and without the beasts, we starve. The beasts have not been coming for several moons. We have had less to eat, and when we attacked the water mountains, two of us were killed. We have asked the spirits to help, and given an offering to the most powerful of them all, the fire mountain."

[Talosian]

Elijah sits in silence for a moment. "I don't think I'm the boon you were looking for, but I will help you if I can." His curiosity again getting the better of him, he adds, "And what are the water mountains?"

[ericthered]

"The great beasts that dwell in the river. They are huge beyond compare, and killing but one would feed all the camps for a month. They have sides like hills, and long necks they use to eat while still in the river."

[Talosian]

"Ah. I saw them when I first reached the river." Elijah ponders for a moment, considering how you could hunt a dinosaur of that size. Maybe if you trapped it... But you'd have to dam the river...
