Thank you very much, that works superbly. The only annoyance is that I need to install it on every computer, every browser (these days I frequently switch back and forth between chrome and edge).

It looks like in the WYSIWIG quote/reply window the <div class="panel"> is stull using the brighter color. I have no idea if it was always that way or not.

Certain colors just clash, and one of the combos I've found that is bad is a darker red or brown against a bright yellow. I think this has to do with the red and green color receptors in the eye having a lot of overlap, meaning that both are stimulated and your brain has to work harder to differentiate them. Throw in the fact that monitors don't actually produce yellow or brown light, just varying intensities of blue, green, and red and I think it multiplies the effect.

I am curious, is anybody else that's having issues red/green colorblind?

Please, if you take suggestions about this, make it darker.

It hurts my eyes and I already use special software to work in low light environments (and it does not aid here).

Everytime I switch windows it burns my eyes!

i feel obligated to chime in on the side of being wholly in favour of the new colourscheme. the increased contrast makes things much easier to read than the previous supersaturated goldenrod, and i have no particular issues reading the link colours against the paler yellow.

I honestly thought something was wrong with the gamma in my monitors, had an old tab open and saw the difference. Maybe we can go back or add a grayscale option. This is literally too harsh, maybe even black text/white background or vice versa, or the option to change it.

It was. It's a slightly different lighter color than the new one.

I have normal colour vision. I work with colour in parts of job. I find it jarring, washed out, lacking in contrast, and discordant. I can't say the previous was ever my favourite, it always felt like a bad rendition of what might have been website colour schemes in the 70s, but it was functionally reasonable.

It's interesting reading those in favour (and there may be more of them than the posts here indicate percentage-wise because people who are happy probably don't come to this part of the forum to complain because, you know, it's good for them :-) ) and I wonder how their vision or cultural or artistic colour experience may differ from those of us who don't like it. Maybe we have a few sneaky tetrachromats in here! (not likely, but, fun to think).

The new style literally makes my eyes hurt to look at it for too long. Thumbs down from me.

I do most browsing on my phone, and the new theme forces me to squint unless I turn the brightness all the way down. That brightness makes the text hard to read and everything else on my phone virtually unusable.

Please choose anything else as default.

I can't look at this site long enough to check my subscribed threads, this is weirdly painful.
