Denmark had beggar's badges too. Or licenses -- I'm not sure they had to be displayed.

There are several counties in the USA that require fortune tellers to be licensed. In the real world it's a combination of lobbying from the incumbents (who don't want competition) and a nice earner for the state. But I prefer to visualize the official training and tests for competence.

How would you test fortune tellers for competence?

See if they can actually foretell the future?

Like all professions, you ask a panel of other fortune tellers to certify the new ones.

Exactly what skills they're approving you may not actually realize.

We're going to REWIRE your brain FOR SCIENCE! But we need feedback, so try to stay conscious.

Twin Cities marathoner and concert violinist performs while undergoing rare brain surgery procedure, so they can get it JUST RIGHT.

Like any other "for entertainment purposes only" performer? And hopefully nix any with fraud convictions.

This one's a little older. I'm going through wtfiwwy's archive:

Need a creepy, atmospheric empty children's playground? Finding your players disbelieve your creepy descriptions, but still want to go on with the creepy playground idea, so you want real-world places like this? Look no further!

Open this link, activate the youtube video for the soundtrack (only), then start scrolling down through the pictures on the page.

Another compilation, which contains part of the pictures above and some other ones.

Ditto.

I found the Halloween soundtrack worked perfectly. Sweet Baby Jesus, what were they thinking?
