This Yi has the crown, rings, armor and sword, but its a very different face: a weathered face with brown hair and a bushy beard. He's a large man, and strongly built.



Yi: "Do I know you?"


He puts his hand on his sword.

Vassarious will resume the Wise woman form they held when travelling with Yi, depositing Halcyone gently on the ground as they shapeshift out from under her.

"We met before and spoke of intertwined fates not long ago. You wore a different skin then, but carries the same trinkets. We were mistaken in our roles, it would seem, and if your 'death' did not cause it to be already so, I ask that we release one-another from all oaths."

Yi: "Lets talk it over with Dinner. Surely there is a village nearby. We can discuss in there, over a meal, and then I will release you from your oaths."

I keep a close on Yi as we head to the nearby village.

It takes about 20 minutes to get there, and Yi doesn't speak the entire time. He finds a woman and offers her a plump gold coin in exchange for killing a goat and stewing it for the three of them. He pulls up a little stool and sits on it.



"Please sit. We have important things to talk about."


"You would like to be released from our oaths. Why? what is so burdensome?"


Both V and Halcyone get the impression he's playing dumb (Face-man and Detect Lies).

"I don't believe our goals are in common after all, as I have scried that we were seeking the wrong king, and would rather be done with the affair."

"What happened on your watch?"

How about the fact that you swapped your face, ran off, and pretended not to know us? It seems that you want to be released, without being released.

Yi: "I determined our goals were not in common, and left, as I feared no small danger to myself."

So, if he faked his death skulked away rather than report the end of his watch, he's betrayed the pledge to deal with us honorably, has he not?
