I did originally have it as two styles but they had a common skill and common users, so it seemed logical to combine them. The list of options is too long but had some precedent in reality. I've noticed some duplication (failed my Proof-reading roll) and I do need to trim the whole thing down - the fencing styles had at most 11 techniques...
Your (plural) responses have been helpful and encouraging, TQ. How's this: • Skills: Brawling; Battlesuit; Shortsword. • Techniques: Disarming (Brawling); Close Combat (Shortsword); Breakfall*; Ground Fighting (Brawling or Shortsword); Retain Weapon (Shortsword); TA (Shortsword Swing/Arm); TA (Shortsword Swing/Neck); Trip*. • Perks: Suit Familiarity (Battlesuit); Clinch*; Improvised Weapons (Brawling); Off-hand Weapon Training (Shortsword); Brakefall; Sure-Footed (Uneven). Optional Traits • Advantages: Combat Reflexes; Fit or Very Fit; 3D Spatial Sense; Perfect Balance; Games (Shortsword Fighting). • Disadvantages: Bloodlust; Overconfidence. • Skills: Free Fall; Fast-Draw (Knife); Knife; Tonfa; Acrobatics; Jumping; Wrestling. • Techniques: Arm Lock*; Choke Lock*; Low Fighting; Stamp Kick; Sweep*; Elbow Strike; Knee Strike; Back Strike (Shortsword); Counterattack (Shortsword); Feint (Shortsword); • Perks: Arm Crock; Choke Out; Clothes-Line; Quick-Sheathe (Shortsword); Quick-Swap (Shortsword); Trap.
