If he can get more when he sells something, it seems eminently reasonable to split the difference[*]. What seems belief-breakingly silly is that someone would be unable to sell stuff for more than 0% just because he was Dead Broke. Admittedly, I speak without knowing the difference between GURPS Wealth and DF Wealth, so I don't know how the latter is defined, but it sounds utterly unbelievable to me. Seems to me the Dead Broke character would need some more disadvantages piled on top, such as IQ 7 and Gullible.
[*] Mind you, I can equally well see the people who collect the stuff argue that selling it is the wealthy guy's job. It's what he brings to the partnership, just as the others bring their loot-gathering abilities to it, so he gets an equal share of what the loot the guys bring home fetch. If he don't like that, they'll go find themselves another sales representative. Once again, it's all in the role-playing.
