Oops. Grey Knights it is. Understandable mistake I think given that they are the closest thing that universe has to white knights...

I never did understand how they pulled off their apparent immunity to Chaos. Sure their defenses are good and their conditioning is both intense and continuous, but in all the millennia of the Empire not even one has willingly joined the enemy? They may well be the only group that can make that claim.

Hehe, it may be a "No true Scotsman" claim. Because no Grey Knight would fall, any that do weren't true Grey Knights to begin with.

I kind of doubt that. In the trilogy the main character seemed pretty knowledgable about his order's history and he didn't know of any. Heck, even (both times!) when he had a full blown demon inside his head trying to break his resolve and/or faith *they* didn't even indicate knowledge of any. And neither of them was a minor demon or disinterested in humanitiy's doings.

It sounded like that very lack of corruption made it every Grey Knight's greatest fear that he would be the first to Fall.

They never did say who was the base for their geneseed BTW. It night even be the Emperor

Actually, it is very possible that the answer to that is in the Horus Heresy book Flight of the Eisenstein... It is very possible that The Grey Knights are all descendants from what was left of the Luna Wolves, especially if one read closely on the last few pages.

Thank you.

I doubt that I'm going to do the Grey Knights any time soon, since I haven't read any of the relevant books and I still haven't written up daemons to get a benchmark for how difficult it is to resist daemonic possession and chaos corruption.

I have thought a bit about currency in 40k universe. The one in Dark heresy etc seems far out, one drink is 1 throne, but Nobles earn just 500 a month or something like that...
So I was thinking that maybe we could use the Gurps dollar as a guideline here (of course).

1 Throne Gelt is 10 Gurps Dollars - 1 Gurps dollars is 1 Imperial Credit/Imperis (based on Eisenhorn), and 10-25 Throne Gelt is 1 Aquila (based of The Horus Heresy novels).

It gives at least more flavor to the game, when speaking of currencies at the very least.

But there are a lot of trading instead of usage of money, and a good few worlds have their own currencies even if they are part of the Imperial Union, there the Throne would only be used on the Official trade offices and maybe shops around the spaceports.

Two questions. 1. Where can i find the various cinematic options from the

Codex Astares Combat Training
6 points

Skills: Brawling; Environment Suit (Battlesuit); Guns (Shotgun); Knife; Throwing.
Techniques: Aggressive Parry; Attack from Above; Back Strike (Knife); Close Combat (Broadsword); Close-Quarters Battle (Shotgun); Neck Snap; Push Kick; Quick-Shot (Shotgun); Retain Weapon (Any); Stamp Kick.
Cinematic Skills: Blind Fighting; Body Control; Immovable Stance; Mental Strength; Power Blow.
Cinematic Techniques: Backbreaker; Dual-Weapon Attack (Any); Hand Catch.
Perks: Akimbo*; Armorer's Gift (Shotgun); Cloaked*; Dial-a-Round*; Infinite Ammunition (Quasi-Realistic)*; Muzzle Flamethrower*; Off-Hand Weapon Training; Power Grappling; Rule of 15; Stone-Cold Killer*; Tacticool*; Teamwork; Weapon Adaptation (Shortsword to Knife); Weapon Bond.

Mostly the perks are what interest me.

2. How come the space marines have ST 20 at a cost of 0 points?

I haven't looked to deeply into the background, but is it really that extraordinary of a claim?

It seems rare for individual Space Marines to fall; instead, a chaos taint spreads and causes a whole bunch to fall at once. The most obvious example is the Horus Heresy, but the same pattern repeats in on a smaller scale (eg the Astral Claws/Red Corsairs). Presumably, the Grey Knights are special, in that other chapters have occasional lone traitors (who either escape in the Eye of Terror or are discovered and exectuted). But, given their advantages, like more careful screening from a wider pool of potential recruits, it's not TOO surprising.

The ones which aren't in Martial arts are in Gun-Fu.

Because the cost of +10 ST is already included in their racial template.

This is pretty amazing stuff. I think that some daemonic templates would be great to see, as would your interpretation of a Primarch or other important character.
