A monster will still stay in the room with its dead Munchkin's pawn, correct?

If you mean and not to move during the monster move phase, I'd say "no", you're dead and there's no reason for it to stay.
We've always put the pawn back in the entrance when the turn was over, so the monster moves on anyway. I suppose if that's wrong then oops. |

Returning to Life (p.6) says you reappear at the Entrance "at the start of your next turn". I think this situation is the reason that it says to leave the pawn lying in the room: "your" monster interferes with anyone trying to pick up your Dropped Items.

By the letter of the rules, the monster would stay put as long as your pawn is still in the room.
