I like your idea, but I think it involves too many extra rules. I'd prefer if you would bribe with the treasures that the monster will give if you win. 100 Gold pieces seems abit too cheap for a level (artificial or not!).

Also, this doesn't fix the imbalance problem that can arise in two player munchkin, because both the top and the bottom munchkin can use the artificial munchkin.

I do must say again I like the "running away (like a little chicken) for help", that's really funny and in spirit!
