Default Re: [DF] Feuding "Good" gods ok for DF?

Even if the gods themselves are on reasonably good terms, their priesthoods and associated organizations are run by mere mortal agents, prone to all the normal failings you get with mortals. I could see two priesthoods feuding based entirely on the religious equivalent of "What your Shawn said about our Sharon at the reunion six years ago."

Or at least two local representatives and their subordinates, even if it's not a universal problem.

Say a groups of PCs serving Zeus could be summoned to retrieve an artifact secured in a dungeon by an evil lich and then a rival group serving Hera could try to stop them or take the artifact for themselves. Both groups would feel they are in the right and most of society would respect both groups but they would actively try to defeat each other. What do you think? Is this too complex for DF? Thanks.
Does this screw the players? Does it prevent (some of) them from freely using those abiltiies that they have already paid up-front character creation currency for?

This is just a big picture question. Do "good" gods have to be a monolithic force or can the, like Zeus and Hera, be both "good" and adversarial. They would both oppose evil things like demons and undead though.

He's right. The question you need to answer is "How will this affect the players"? That will tell you whether there's a problem.
