Well, when you put it like that a knockout doesnt hurt at all, and thats because you are a sleep like a baby. you wake up 2 hours later and feeling like you`ve been hit by a car, but not seriously damaged (Unless Mike Tyson or Bob Sapp made the hit). The entire comment told what I wanted to know. Thanks alot!

Fair enough. In the realistic version of this lawless setting, Karate Guy killing him first probably isn't going to happen with a single kick to the face as we've discussed above, but getting in that first shot to the face will make it much easier for him to do the job with a series of All-Out Telegraphic Stamp Kicks to the actual Skull once the pickpocket is down and stunned (total active defenses: -7 without ground Fighting techniques) until his Diagnosis roll to determine death is at a +10 TDM so to speak, if he is so inclined. Fortunately for Karate Guy, this will still look completely hardass to the lawless bystanders.

After reading your comment and Gold & Appel Inc`s comment I agree to that. Thanks for clearing that out!

No problemo. I get to reality-check the unskilled hand-to-hand rules at work occasionally, so this stuff is of interest to me (even though Phoenix_Dragon's GURPS Fu is technically better, and I recommend it highly for additional reading) ;)
