Greetings, all!
This a very neat (but likely implausible) concept from the wargame Infinity. There are these these ultra-tech troopers, Auxilia, who have a 'synchronized link'. Meaning that when the two perform actions, they do so in total communion, but the two must take the same Manoeuvre type (even if they have different targets/movement directions). How would you build that? Thanks in advance! |

The benefit is probably Telecommunication (Radio), and the ability to more-or-less dictate the behavior of the bot. (I think we can say the bot has Minion and Slave Mentality for game purposes.) But there's the limitation I mentioned. That's what I'm interested in.

Check out the Teamwork perk in GURPS Martial Arts. Works a bit like what you're describing.

BTW, the Teamword perk seems fitting. |

So the disadvantageous aspect only affects the bot, right? The operator can do whatever he wants, but the bot can only do the same maneuver that the operator is performing? Is the bot completely RPV'd or does it have some limited AI of its own? Can it make any decisions without external input?

The bot can sort of demonstrate rudimentary volition as long as it is in contact with the (conscious!) controller. E.g. it can act on a trigger of its own Wait independently of the Controller, as long as both Waits convert into the same Manoeuvre after triggering ('The controller and the Remote each get their own ARO in reaction to every Order declared in their LOF or inside their Zone of Control.'). So it's possible for both to declare Wait and then Wait->AoA upon seeing enemy (but the controller shoots his rifle, while the bot uses its flamethrower/Cone Burn Innate Attack, both shooting at two different soldiers, each of which triggered the Wait separately). Why does the bot need a piece of a human brain to work I have no idea, as the fluff is sold separetely from the rules*. Full details can be found here*, starting from the header 'GHOST: Synchronized'. * == Yes, the company publishes the rules for free. |
