Default Spaceships Compilation

Any thought on compiling the Spaceships series into one book or PDF and offering it for sale at a discount over the total of the separate pieces? Right now it is around 269 pages for about $45.00.

It's hard to see how that could generate enough extra sales (i.e. sales not parasitised from the series) to justify the expense of completely redoing the layout and indexing.

I'm getting my discount by not buying the bits I don't want.

No. A compilation would be too much work for the effort and discounting a bundle isn't anything we have planned at this time.

On the other hand, you can buy all the files, and someone's posted some way of compiling all the indexes (indices?) together. (I think it was in the e23 forum.)

So no discount, but you can still make it effectively one big book.

I enjoy all the PDFs, but the only way I would consider buying the POD is if it were compiled, for all of the series' (DF, SS, Action). I understand as mentioned that this is a lot of work, and that SJGames' publishing plans does not revolve around my preferences. I just thought I'd add my data point.

A combined Index and Table of Contents, listing volume and page would be nice.

Okay, got tired of giving vague comments about "check in e23 forum, someone mentioned how to do that." Braved the search, and came up with this.

Hope it helps. I have no idea if, or how, it works.

That's the correct thread. Note that you'll need to have Perl installed on your computer in order to use the script; choose one of the "binary distributions" listed on this page if you don't know what to do with source code.
