Default CHEZ GREEK: Canceling Negative Slack?

Okay, RPK, or whomever else decides to respond. Here's a situation that came up in a recent CHEZ GREEK play session:

As an activity, I play TWO-BAG NOOKIE (Slack 1 Die -2). An opponent immediately plays HIDDEN CAMERA (Play before someone rolls for Nookie; you get the same Slack). I roll a 1, resulting in -1 Slack, which both the opponent and I now suffer. However, I also had in my hand HIT THE BOOKS (or one of the other Activity-cancelling cards in the set; can't remember right off).

So here are two questions:

(1) Could I have played HIT THE BOOKS, or ANY Activity-cancelling card (including a TV card) on myself to negate the Nookie, thus negating the negative Slack (as in, I pulled out of the deed BEFORE finishing)? Or is the deed considered done once the roll is taken?

(2) If the above answer is "Yes, you can negate it", then if by doing so, is the -1 Slack earned by the opponent for HIDDEN CAMERA also negated (didn't catch any good footage), or would it still be considered viable (using the effort to install the camera, and effort ISN'T Slackworthy)? If the answer is "No, the Slack sticks", could the opponent play a Whenever-cancelling card to negate the HIDDEN CAMERA and it's -1 Slack themselves?

How's THAT for a conundrum?
