The Wizard ability

Can the wizard ability be used when assisting someone else in combat? Can you help someone and discard your whole hand to charm the beast?



Also, another scenario, if the player has no cards, can they use the "discard whole hand" if they have no hand?

Yes and no, respectively. If there are two wizards in a combat, they could charm two monsters (one each). There's no limitation on who the main combatant is.

And no, if you have no cards in your hand, then you have no hand to discard.
