It would need to be self-contained: All the needed rules from Thaumatology, stripped of unnecessary complications and simplified for DF, plus a list of suitable rituals. I think that would be a cool "splat," but I'd like to see a few non-splats on treasures, monsters, etc. before digging into yet another book for characters.

Well, all other casters in DF already just chuck spells from the hand. I think it might be more interesting to have one who can create charms that do magic for him. One major bit of coolness is that he could hand charms to noncasters, even temporarily enchant their stuff, to provide something different from "yet more fireballs and/or healing." YMMV.
