I got it from "Imperial Armour Volume 2" which states that the thickness is 75mm. Not sure about armour composition though so I guess that it could be more than 70 DR/inch.
Yeah, I increased it to ST 100 so now it does an average of 42 instead. |

I think a dread should be able to rip through Rhinos and chimeras, for something heavier they are armed with something else ;-)

I think according to WH40k lore, the Assault Cannon is able to "eat" through armour because of its high rate of fire. So just give them Ablative DR.

Well the vehicles I've statted so far have been using the same official armour thickness values at DR 70/inch, some (like the Baneblade) have had their armour values increased due to armour slope. |

From memory...
Yes, Dreads are AV12/12/11 (front/sides/rear). Bolters are S4+d6 so they can't n get an 11. The front armor should also be immune to Hvy Bolters (S5+d6) though it has a slight chance of glancing the rear armor. Glancing hits can't be that damaging (at best knock out a weapon/immobilize). Landspeeders are AV10/10/10. Rhinos are AV11/11/10. Predators are AV13/11/10. Land Raiders are AV14/14/14. For Imperial Guard: Leman Russ is AV14/12/10. Chimera is AV12/10/10. Sentinel is AV10/10/10. |

Leman Russ armour got upgraded in the recent codex - they are now 14/13/10 (or 14/13/11 for the heavier variants). You also need to bear in mind that 40k armour values represent a mix of what would be DR and HP in GURPS. Anyway, here's another template... Imperial Guard Commissar (155 points) Attributes: ST 11 [10]; DX 12 [40]; IQ 12 [40]; HT 11 [10]. Secondary Characteristics: Damage 1d-1/1d+1; BL 24 lbs.; HP 11 [0]; Will 12 [0]; Per 12 [0]; FP 11 [0]; Basic Speed 5.75 [0]; Basic Move 5 [0]. Advantages: Legal Enforcement Powers [10]; Social Regard (Feared) 2 [10]; Military Rank 2 [10] and 15 points chosen from among Ambidexterity [5], Combat Reflexes [15], Fearlessness [2/level], High Pain Threshold [10] or Unfazeable [15]. Disadvantages: Duty (Extremely Hazardous, Quite Often) [-15] and -15 points from Bully [-10], Callous [-5], Fanaticism (Imperium of Man) [-15], Honesty [-10], No Sense of Humour [-10], On the Edge [-15], Stubbornness [-5] or Workaholic [-5]. Primary Skills: One of Intimidation (A) Will+1 [4]-13 or Propaganda (A) IQ+1 [4]-13; One of Law (Military) (H) IQ [4]-12, Savoir-Faire (Military) (E) IQ+2 [4]-14 or Soldier (A) IQ+1 [4]-13; One of Leadership (A) IQ+2 [8]-14 or Public Speaking (A) IQ+2 [8]-14.
