You're not allowed to trade directly from your hand; that's in the rules. So is the ability to sell from your hand. So, no, you're not "wrong" to disallow trading from the hand, but you are "wrong" to disallow selling from the hand.
I say "wrong," because I'm going from an official rules standpoint, but since we're talking about house rules, they can't be wrong as long as you know that they are house rules. So, what this means is that you can't play out a second Big Item to trade it because you can only carry (i.e., have in play) one Big Item without some form of sanctioned rule breakage (Cheat!, Hireling, Dwarf, etc.) Last edited by MunchkinMan; 08-06-2009 at 01:16 PM. |

Yeah, we never noticed that line. Being able to sell extra Big items from your hand helps ameliorate half the reason for our "temporarily extra Big items" interpretation. And while blowing up items when Halflings are selling them from their hand would be fun, it doesn't happen often enough for us to justify making a rule change for it.
The player-to-player trade can be handled by enforcing gentleman's agreements to give someone another Big item after they take the first. |
