Player A opens a door and divine intervention pops up and then player B plays Annihilation. Will Annihilation cancel the effect of the divine intervention?

Annihilation causes the card to be discarded before the effects of the card take place so...

Annihilation says that it cancels the effects of a card just played, so, yes, if played when Divine Intervention is played, not only does the DI's effect not occur, but the card gets completely removed for the duration of that game.

I see.. I thought it only applies to permanents in play.
So when someone including myself kicks a dungeon or look for trouble, can I use it to bury the monster as well? |

I think he means bury as in remove from the or any discard pile for the duration of the current game....
or Annihilate....yes.
