Default [SPACE] Life Support greater than 24 hrs less than infinite?

Ok if i understand the rules correctly a Habitate offers pretty much infinte air and water. Total Life support adds food to that. Limited Life support provided by seating allows for 24 hours of life support.

So what do i do if i'm modeling current tech level space craft with greater than 24 hour life support but with definite durations due to life support, such as our Shuttles and the new Orion spacecraft?

oops should have been tagged for SpaceShips, sorry.

I set your tag for you... Tags aren't done in the subjects though, FYI.

Not actually what the description of habitat says. It is described as "extended life support for long voyages." The ship design system is insufficiently granular to distinguish between a habitat that can take you to the moon and back at TL 7, and a habitat for the voyage to Mars at TL 8. But in neither case would the systems be capable of infinite recycling. They have enough capacity to do the job the ship was designed for, is all.

Actually it's okay to tag subjects like that - easier to see.

I guess I was just expressing that the use of the word Tag, is misleading as "Tag" means something other than a flag in the subject. Both are good, yes.

I had the assumption in my TL11^ game that the standard Control Room had more or less infinite air/water just to make games with the flavor of Star Wars easier (where Luke might spend days or weeks in hyperspace while in his X-Wing). I figure at a high enough TL and with super science there's no point in saying there's such a ridged limit as 24 hours for the control room when a habitat is assumed to have near infinite recycling.

My problem comes with my assumption that space craft built today would not have Habitates but would instead be built with seating, which in spaceships specificly states 24 hrs of life support. But even with the use of habitats and the non "granular" system I find it diufficult to make an educated guess of what the duration of any given craft i design is without being arbitray. I was hopeing for some advice.

Not the space shuttle. The lab equipment and sleeping accomadations would be a habitat. I'd say incidentally, that the thing to do for seating with extended duration, would be to increase the cost and nothing else.
