I seem to be having problems using it in open office. I keep getting error 502. on the hull numer and only armor I'm allowed is light alloy.

Clusterfrak, I think you missed an important part of ericbsmith's posting about the spreadsheet...

I converted Eric's spreadsheet into Office Open XML (Office 2007) Format, however when trying to save it as OpenDocument format it gave me an error saying a sheet was password protected and couldn't be exported without removing the password. I also tried making it into an Excel template (for obvious reasons) which only lead to Excel crashing (100% CPU and not responding) every time I tried making a new file with it, so I guess that route is out.

Anyway, the Excel 2007 document is available here and assuming I can get a version without the password protection I'll try to make an OpenOffice.org native version of it too. I'd upload a template, but as I said the template version crashes Excel.

Edit: On review I found out the Macros-enabled Excel 2007 file was needlessly large (almost 5MB) and uncompressed (unlike most Office 2007 files which are ZIPed XML files), so I ZIPed it to under 1MB and re-uploaded it.

Just wanted to drop a note that I've posted a new version of the spreadsheet that is Open Office v3.1 compatible. For further discussion see the other thread:
