I've been looking over Tactical Combat from Spaceships 3 in preparation of the (quite small) space-combat event of the century in my TS inspired campaign, and I find that Thrust Rating on p. 25 seem way off.
Thrust Rating is "The vessel's acceleration in hexes/turn". Isn't it logical that if you scale turn length up by a factor of 3 then your thrust rating should also increase by (roughly) a factor of 3? I mean if the turn is three times as long the amount of same size hexes you can accelerate during that three times as long turn should be roughly three times as many. But 3 times as long turn gives 10 times the amount acceleration. Have anyone else stumbled upon this? |

No, you've got it wrong. It's a little tricky...
In a turn 3 times as long, you can put on 3 times as much delta-V. But in a turn 3 times as long, one hex per turn is only a third as much speed as well. Put them together, remember that 3 = sqrt (10) in spaceships, and there you go.

Jupp I forgot that you only need 1/3rd the speed to go 1 hex in my example. Now my equations matches. Thx
