Fancy shooting is cooler! I loved Wanted. One of my favorite scenes in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is after the poker game when the guy accuses Sundance of cheating and then apologizes. He asks how good Sundance is and the gunslinger shoots off the gamblers side arm and proceeds to shoot the pistol across the floor. Commando is one of my all time favorite films and Lethal Weapon is just fun to watch. Le Femme Nikita is a cinematic masterpiece and of course almost anything by John Woo is good.

I really want to be selected for this playtest.

This breathless excitement is kind of cute. ;)

I hope you're selected.

Really, though? Out of all the brilliant scenes in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, that's the one that blew you away? What about "the next time I say: 'Let's go somewhere like Bolivia', let's go somewhere like Bolivia"? Or "Oh, good. For a moment there I thought we were in trouble".

C'mon, that line combines in one perfect moment the understated genius of two acting greats, one of the most poignant and unspoken bromances of our times (or any time) and enough firepower to send Sly Stallone whimpering for cover!

considering the limit isn't $100, and it isn't "This year", I"m not quite sure what that has to do with playtesting!

It's $50, and "in the last 12 months". If you've spent $50 since about mid June last year, you're good.

"I can't swim"

"Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill you."

"OHHHHH, SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!"

Classic.

Good luck on the playtest!

I won't be able to help as I haven't bought anything from E23 and I don't like Gun-Fu movies all that much. I've seen a few but in general I avoid them

However I intend to remedy the first and when the "real gun fighting" playtest comes along maybe I can help out.

I also plan to have my groups converted to GURPS by then ...

I hope a lot of people get in playtest, I'm looking forward for this one too. Sadly, my group is totally anti-modern RPG, plays far too little to be helpful and I haven't hit the $50 requirement either, non-backwards access to old 3e pyramid articles kinda put me off. Call me old fashioned, but I still prefer to buy the physical books from importers, although it's getting harder and harder.

When are they going to sell booklet sized pdf readers I can take to bed and to the gaming table?

And, to bring it back to the topic at hand:

"I'm better when I move."

The scene I cited involved cinematic gunslinging. Given the topic of this thread, it's far more pertinent. There are plenty of great scenes in the film. However, the one that would be played out for a Gun Fu playtest is the one I listed.

The one where he says, Sundance says "Im better when I move" is also on topic, though not quite as cinematic. However, it is definitely something I'd like to see modeled in GURPS. Not sure if it's a Quirk or some sort of limitation. It's certainly interesting.

There were dozens of great scenes and excellent lines in the film.

The one cited about "the fall will kill ya'" is probably may favorite line from the film. The Bolivia one was good too.

"Who are those guys."

Well, the final scene has got plenty of Gun Fu action as well.
