I totally agree. I told my more twisted minded friends and coworkers who play RPGs about Abydos and the general consensus can be summed up as "WTF?" but in a good way...lol

As an addition to it being nice for a DF setting, more Banestorm material would be nice. Overall, though, I'm seriously thinking about adapting Forgotten Realms to GURPS Dungeon Fantasy to pique the interest of my D&D playing friends.

I can also report that GURPS Dungeon Fantasy is good for conventions, where you don't have the time to get everyone into character and acquainted with an unfamiliar setting -- just drop characters into their laps, give them a barebones goal, and get people playing GURPS.

Wow, I thought Vampire was one of the coolest games ever. But then again I love horror and tons of action.

Hey, there have been times when it was a hotspot! They have a bunch of tunnels under the city that were used by Prohibition-era gangsters up from the States to store alcohol and mobsters lying low. Persistent local rumor (bolstered by the city's tourism industry, who really want people visiting the tunnels), maintains that Al Capone himself spent some time up there.
And now you know. :-)

That's the reason I can't stand X-Files anymore. The show went from "weird story of the week" to "aliens and conspiracies R us" and it just caused the show to jump the shark. I can't stand conspiracies (even legitimate, real world ones that aren't conspiracies but historical fact) nor aliens of any sort because the show just ruined the entire concept for me.

V:tM along with the entire modern vampire genre, isn't really horror anymore, it's more of a fantasy fetish for goths, nerds and middle-aged women.

Bah. The games we played in college were really cool. It was like GURPS Action with supernatural creatures. There was horror too when your characters have to investigate an ancient vampires lair or hunt down a monstrous fellow vampire. I guess it depends on who is the dungeon master of your game.

About a month ago, someone posted over on RPG.net that "White Wolf books are written by Lit and Art majors who hated science classes, while GURPS books are written by Engineers who love history."

I figured that quote would hold the WWGS Snark title for a while. I stand corrected. :)

I was just never able to keep up with what the hell was going on re: conspiracies. It never seemed to actually mean anything. It was all weird stuff...nothing they found seemed to relate to anything else, they just found more parts, folds, turns, etc. to the conspiracy. I liked the "monster of the week" episodes, where they introduced something, but the conspiracy...ye gods.

From cracked.com:

What was once a vicious blood sucking monster has become a romantic character conflicted because the strength of his kiss will surely kill the woman he wants to love. Anne Rice cut the balls off of Vampires. They are now imaginary gay boyfriends for goth girls.
