Except that their level on the Social Axiom prevents them from doing that unless it is clearly for the Greater Good (tm). Given the presence of the Virus this suddenly becomes an interesting dilemma.
As to the other matter I brought up a couple posts back - How about Unusual Background (Possibility Rated)? Starting out at something like only 5 points for a person with a low Reality score in TORG, it lets you buy at least some cinematic skills but gives you no bonus on your roll to resist Reality Shifts... other than the fact that it gives you one in the first place! For a simple game mechanic how about you make a hard limit of (points in Possibility Rated background) x 5 [10 for Nile Empire folk] for how many points you can invest in Cinematic skills appropriate to your Realm. Points in the (P-Rating background) divided by five on the other hand gives you your bonus to resist Shifts. And probably to detect Reality based phenomena (like zone borders and such) come to think of it. The flip side of having a lot of points in the P-Rating background is that your bonus to resist Shifts is added to the bonus of an opposing P-Rated person to detect *your* unusual aura! I suppose you could fiddle with the numbers and come up with something more appropriate for your campaign style, but I think it might be workable. Opinions anyone? Side note btw: Almost everything in the game would have to have a notation as to what Reality it came from. Even the spell formulae. You had to be extremely careful about the fine print sometimes in that game to avoid Contradictions. |
