I think there are two ways to look at this, the more I read the card:

1. The first time you lose a combat while riding the Raptor Steed, you must discard the Raptor Steed, but you successfully escape all the Monsters.
2. If you lose combat, you can choose to take the Bad Stuff from all the Monsters and keep the Raptor Steed, or discard the Raptor Steed and escape from all the Monsters.

Checking on the intended meaning now. Let's not have lots of wild speculation about what's right, as I'll just be getting the right answer from the mouth of the creator.

Yeah, this was definitely the intended meaning. This is how I've been playing it, but I can see how there might be some confusion. I don't think I was quite that clear in a previous post about this, but now I have complete confirmation on the intent.
