Why Switch to G4 and not stick with G3

http://www.walmart.com has Infinite Worlds, Magic, and Fantasy for $21.22. Shipping is about $3 for a single book. They also have a whole slew of 3E books at discounted prices (122 hits). They don't appear to have the core books though.

As to new releases, I think it took them 3 weeks to get IW in after its release, iirc.

If one one doesn't have a credit card (or prefer not to use one on the net), you can get a reloadable gift card at your local Wal-Mart and use it online.

The one drawback....they only ship inside the US (incl. APO/FPO).

Sorry to sound like a Wal-Mart groupie, but they're helping me to strectch my gaming budget these days....

On topic, I'm making the switch to 4E....campaign's been on hold since October anyway and I'm introing my two oldest daughters to gaming right now (ages 7 and 9).

Things I like: 1) Infinite Worlds. A mega-setting. Geat idea to tie everything together (even if you don't). 2) not havng to use Basic Set, + Comps 1 & 2. 3) Hardcovers! 4) A new coat of paint does wonders for an old friend! ;)

Things I dislike: 1) The art bugs me. I just like the old stuff better (but then, I ~like~ Otus, Willingham, Dee, Trampier, etc.). 2) The exanmple characters are a bit....I don't know. They rub me wrong somehow. Especially the robot. And why does Dai have to have psionics now?!! He would have been just fine w/o it. 3) I'm worried about power creep....but we'll see.
