A recent thread over at rpg.net about Nobilis made me think about some of the systems or settings I just haven't been able to wrap my head around:
- Nobilis - A very pretty book, that I've tried twice to read and I just can't get the concept. It sounds something like the old WoTC product, The Primal Order, a game which I understood, but didn't like the mechanics nor the concept of too much. That might be causing a 'mental block' in this case :/
- Feng Shui - Another book with a lot of color (pictures and text). I wanna like it, but it's all so confusing :? Too many distractions, maybe... dunno. I DO like Hong Kong Action Theatre, which covers most of the same playing style.
- Amber - Loved the stories (the first series, at least), but it took me a long while to figure out the fuss of the diceless system. I finally 'got it' [to my satisfaction :p], but I still don't see what makes its proponents so convinced it is the best way to game the setting.
