Dungeon Fantasy Dinosaurmen

These creatures look like a man sized up right velociraptor. They have sharp teeth and clawed hands. They are intelligent and ruled the world for millions of years before mankind evolved. They fought wars with the other races in the early world. They drove the fishmen deep into the sea, the insectmen underground, the lizardmen into the swamps and the reptilemen into the deserts. The dinosaurmen developed wonderous technologies using crystals that collected magical energy. They explored by psionic and magical studies. They developed wonderous cities and societies. They recorded most of their knowledge into books and other media. There was a great cataclysm and the dinosaurmen's society was weakened. It was beginning to become the age of the mammals, first ratmen appeared but they were quickly defeated, then catmen who were driven into the jungles. Apemen evolved and were used as slaves, until a new and formidable creature evolved, humans. Humans were no more intelligent than the dinosaurmen but they were very resilient and resourceful. Dinosaurmen enslaved most of humanity, but some were able to escape to the frozen northern climates. As humanity spread throughout the globe, they began to out number the dinosaurmen. Soon the tables turned, humanty had its revenge. The barbarians from the north swept down upon the dinosaurmen reducing their numbers. the dinosaurmen had to hide because the humans sought to exterminate any dinosaurman on sight The gods of men also granted mankind magical powers and items. When the faery realm was ripped open this created a time of great confusion, as monsters from myth and legend flooded into the world. The goblin-kin faery races dug deep tunnels into the ground, creating great warrens to hide from the surface world. The dinosaurmen retreated to the underground along with the orcs, trolls, goblins and hobgoblins who they enslaved. It is rumored that there are great cave comlexes deep underground that contain cities of the dinosaurmen with technology beyond the comprehension of the upper world. The dinosaurmen have sought to reconquer the surface world to regain their pride. They learned from and made alliances with the shadow elves. The dinosaurmen made new allies with the serpentmen who were driven underground as well. The dinosaurmen are just waiting for the right time to attack and reclaim their world.
