Dungeon Fantasy Shadow Elves

Once upon a time in the faery realm, there was a wise and just elf king who was married to a beautiful queen. There were many faeries in the realm. Dwarves mining gold, sliver, platinum, gems and copper. They made fabulous jewelry and weapons. The king was pleased. There were halflings baking in the kitchens and entertaining the court. Gnomes groomed the trees and took care of the gardens. Leprechauns made shoes and clothing, brownies took care of keeping the palace clean, giants care for mountains, nymps cared for the forrests and streams, mermen gathered pearls and seafood, centaurs and fauns played music for the court and sprites, pixies and ellyllon took care of the flower gardens. All was happy in the realm except for a few faeries who were nasty like the goblins who delighted in tricking and hurting others while the orcs, ogres and trolls loved to bully weaker faeries. These nasty faeries were summoned to the court and sentenced to live in the underground where they would nt be able to harm the others. They left for the underworld and began to enjoy digging endless tunnel and warrens. Over time they lost interest in the upper world except to exact revenge on it. The goblin-kin gathered together many times to avenge the faery realm above but as many times they were defeated.

The elf king was proud of his victories and he kept his subjects happy with feasts and parties. The other upper realm faeries loved him, except his jealous queen, Arachnia. She looked at herself in the mirror and she saw the most beautful elf that ever existed. She wondered why the subjects didn't love her the way they loved the king. The only elves that loved her were the vain and selfish ones. One night as the king toasted his subjects, the elf queen stood up and said that the subjects should be honoring her, not the elf king. At that, the king sentenced her and all of the vain and selfish elves to the underworld with the evil faeries. The elf queen went and over time she too began to enjoy the darkness and caves. The elves adapted to their surrounding, their skin became shadow grey and their hair black or cobweb grey. They remained beautiful however. The elf queen ever after plotted revenge. An idea came to her as a spider crawled upon her and she decided what to do. She took the spiders venom and used her powerful magic.

One day she ventured to the surface and asked to see the elf king. When she saw him she apologized for her behavior and asked forgivness. The elf king forgave her and he decided to throw a party for her. The party was wonderful and everyone told the elf queen how beautiful she was. At the end of the party the the elf queen poured the magic venom into the glass that the elf king was drinking, immediately he died. The elf queen laughed and yelled for the other evil faeries to attack. The elf queen's magic was tremendously powerful, and the other elves and evil faeries killed the good faeries by the hundreds. The good elves used every magical spell and weapon they had, the elf queen and the evil elves cast there magcal spells as well. Chaos ensued. Destruction was everywhere, finally there was so much magical energy that it ripped open the faery realm and many of the faeries good and bad were swept into other worlds. The good faeries in the realm soon overpowered the elf queen and defeated her. They transformed her into a spider just like the one she used to kill her husband with.There was a great rip still open in the faery realm, one leading to Hell, so they cast the elf-queen into it

The shadow elves left the faery realm. They had lost all of their magic. They dug deep down into the caves of the mundane world and regrouped. They searched for a way to get their powers back. Soon someone in Hell answered their calls.
