Hi, I recently played the original munchkin at a friend's house. I am now considering buying myself a stand-alone set. However, I realized that there are many variations of the game. I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion as to which munchkin they think is the most fun? Thank you in advance

Well, what do you like? Do you get a laugh from old cheesy sci-fi , kung-fu, horror, super hero, spy, westerns, pirates, etc, movies? The Best Munchkin set is the one you like, and if you have friend that like it to, then that's a bonus.

Super Munchkin, totally. I still hold out hope for a second expansion. (One will probably come out some time after Munchkin 12: Kobold Programing.)

I'm a purist: I prefer the original, with expansions 2 and 3. I like all of them, of course, but the first set is still my favorite.

I'm a big fan of original and Cthulhu. The only problem with Cthulhu is that the source material isn't nearly as accessible as some of the other variants. If you aren't familiar with the source material, you won't get the majority of the jokes.

I like the Deadlands variant - aka Cthulhu plus Good/Bad/Munchkin. :)

I'm going second bites. It has some hillarious cards and even pretty vcious (something I find is lacking in newer munchkin games). Though bites really needs a theif class/power to keep some of the items in line :(
though yeah buy the one that theme appeals to you the most |

I'll throw in another vote for Super Munchkin, with Star Munchkin a close second.
