Gregory comments about how slowly his energy comes back... "you need to practice that"

"Can you explain how? I kinda try to do that already. I have this smoke puff trick that uses all my juice, and I concentrate on 'the pattern' to kind of make my magic stronger. Maybe you have some advice to make it better?"

Peter will describe his (most) nightly meditations and exercises and the patterns he uses, combining the Karana patterns with the extrapolations he's made from exposure to other kinds of magic.

They are in good spirits, and laugh as they journey northward. Rajat got a bow as well as a sword, and Ann and Leon have weapons as well. Leon drills everyone just a little in the evening... they're still sleeping off-road.

If Peter tells the other about the tracking seal, Rajat will say to break it. Leon will say to keep it for now, as it could be useful to trick Incarius.

Ah, I should have just gone with a bow, Peter can actually use that.

"I'm going to keep the seal until we get to Tedroy. They know the direction we're headed anyway, just not your contacts there. So we will only show Incarius what he already knows, and he can track us if we need his help."

That night, Peter dreams of the people from the island who arrived with him. They're gathered in a village, crowded into little huts, as the rain pours down. They look very dirty, but they seem to have lots and lots of wood to burn... almost a conspicuous amount.

Interesting. Is the wood look to be gathered or fresh cut from trees, or are they burning the ship or something? Can he get a sense of their spirits, or if they've been eating? Is it just the islanders, or have they joined with any locals or other refugees?
