"They were doing a sweep of the village we were in when they found us, and we haven't heard anything since we got away. They got a look at us, but I'm not sure if they are on our trail or not."

"I might be able to arrange letters of recommendation. that won't stop a dedicated search, but it will provide some security."

"You... probably have the gift. Not everyone has it here. If you can demonstrate the gift, you can be apprenticed out, or perhaps taught quickly. It requires a great deal of study and practice. Given what you have done for my city, I can recommend you to a teacher, if you desire."

Oh okay, I was wondering if it was having a god of tech is thesource of the difference in the first place.

Upon waking, Peter will present the situation to his companions and reccomend we take the help.

"He's in the weaver's district. He's well known, just ask for him. I'm telling him about you, he'll you're one of my agents, to give you the letter and recommend a teacher, and little more. If needed say you're helping me find something. Which is true enough."

Leon: "But no promises yet, right? No deal?"

Rajat: "the ability to at least challenge any aggressors will be quite useful."

Ann: "Something about this feels like strings are attached. What if its just a trap and he's going to grab us?"

Rajat: "We could send just some of us -- though they'd want information, not us specifically."

Leon: "Ann is the one who knows how to get to the others. Maybe she should hang back. And maybe Rajat?"

Rajat: "And see if I can get my hands on a weapon."

Leon: "Can you actually use a sword? I mean, beyond academy level?"

Rajat: "Enough to not immediately look like a fool. And I'm a soldier, so I'll look threatening once I have a weapon."

Finding the weaver's district is simple, its labeled. Finding Mathew of Minimasan is also not too hard: Leon asks directions and you are told how to find his home and quarters. Matthew's servant lets you into his home, and the man comes to see you.



"Peter, I've been watching for you!"


He hands you a letter. Peter can feel some sort of magic on it.



"So did you want an introduction to a magic instructor of some kind? Incarius says you are quite gifted but have no formal training."

I see Peter favoring a fencing weapon to favor defense, or a long knife would work as it has some reach and still uses the knife skill. He can certainly work with a light weapon, reinforcing it with Yaka Blade to stand up to heavy weapons, should he need to.

I'm on a mission I have to finish before I could concentrate on magical studies, but I'd love to get a primer and have a chat with a teacher while we're in town, and maybe come back to study."

The magic seems to be connective... maybe a little bit like what Senarich used to attach himself to Peter? There is no mind associated with it though. Maybe its a little like that spell the chaplaincy people were casting earlier as well.



Matthew: "The magic on the letter? You can detect it but you don't know what it is?"


Peter can tell Matthew didn't think that he was going to have to talk about the magic.

He will thank him. Good for show I suppose, but with a default skill of 7, he'll be far better off with his knife if there's trouble.
