LATER.
Larsh can also be smoked. This produces a faster and more intense 'high', and is also much more destructive to health and performance. A dose of inhaled larsh will take effect quickly, and run its course more quickly as well. In some cases the result is a sort of trance, which leaves the user helpless but is highly prized by users. [The 'high' will begin in HT-1d seconds, and reach fullness in HT-1d minutes. It will last about 2d-HT hours, minimum one hour. The euphoria will be far more intense, and thus also more debilitating. A user will suffer from IQ-3 and DX-3 while the 'high' lasts, and must roll vs. HT to avoid slipping into a complete ecstatic trance in which he or she is unable to think or act.] Inhaled larsh is damaging on several levels. The usual problems if smoking anything can produce lung damage, and long-term users of inhaled larsh often develop lung cancer or other issues. Additionally, the gradual decline of health seen in ingestion users is far more rapid in inhalers. [After a year of regular inhaled larsh user (at least once a week on average), the user must roll vs. HT to avoid losing a level of HT and must roll again, vs. the new HT level, to avoid losing 1 level of IQ AND DX. After a year this becomes permanent and the user must roll vs. HT-1 to avoid another loss to HT, and a chance of losses to IQ and HT. On a critical failure of the HT roll, the user suffers cardiac arrest.] Obviously, inhaled use is very different from ingested. The ingested use of larsh makes it a mild drug, as such things go. The inhaled use is much more serious and much more rapidly debilitating. While ingestion of larsh is legal in most states on Veranis, inhaled use is often theoretically illegal (though enforcing this is difficult because they use the same drug form for both). MORE LATER.

I don't think the inhalation effects are bad enough. Long term unhealthy sure, but anything that reacts chemically with skin fast enough to cause a sensation of anything is something I do not want to inhale! It probably should do some immediate damage too, with a substantial number of addicts dying of fluid accumulation pneumonia from the stuff leaking from their damaged lungs (probably modeled well enough by taking another dose before the damage from the last one has had time to heal).
And actually, most inhaled bad for you stuff doesn't particularly promote cancer. Nicotine just happens to fit nicely between planes of DNA bases. Not that physical damage and scar tissue aftereffects like emphysema and chronic bronchitis are better.

Primarily what causes cancers with inhaled stuff is all the additional chemicals and stuff, in addition to the drug itself (such as nicotine).
Though frankly, inhaling anything that isn't just say water vapor or oxygen, seems to screw up our lungs eventually. |

Has some enterprising Terran tried to introduce larsh vaping yet?

The real Terrestrian drug market for Verenisian drugs is another drug, called Nostalgia.
