Anoras knows what happened to the greater-warrior-than-Anoras Thad, and knows the injuries to the greater-warrior-than-Anoras Cassandra. So Anoras was actually trying to avoid that possibility. Now it's another Code of Honor vs. Stubbornness conflict. Stick with my original plan, keep myself whole so I can medically threat others, see if there are those in battle who need immediate help, fight the evil rebellion and help restore Haunden to its former glory (Longs for the Old Days (pre-Venasir attack) Quirk) etc.

But she would see her original plan to prevent the attack didn't work. (I've known that for a long time, but she didn't.)

....Anoras will make a large mark on the wood signifying Holidor and/or another appropriate mark that would hint helping Holidor--two marks would be ideal. She'll write on the wood in Venasir:

"Warning: Fireball and Wings plan to meet Stripes with others to attack Holidor castle a day or so from now. Cassandra, and the mystics' prisoners, including the giant Thad, can help Holidor prevent the attack. -- Healer Anoras."

So...

Anoras (speaking in Haunden): "Gerrund, you are experienced, so I am glad you agree with my plan. I will run ahead while the rest of you follow!"

She will do so--and hope the rest catch up quickly. And hope she doesn't get attacked before she can do anything. And hope that Cassandra was accepted so Anoras, with or without a mask, can be identified as an ally by Holidor! (But not as an enemy by the rebels. After all, she medically treated some of them.)
