TFT or GURPS with Wildcard skills
I always hate the questions - which one is better; however, I need some recommendations from folks that played both. I picked up GURPS 4th edition, and it seems rule heavy compared to TFT and what I want. However, I noticed Wildcard skills. Due to the latter I thought about using GURPS with Wildcard skills and strip out Advantages, disadvantages and quirks; letting the players roleplay their characters oppose to give them character points.
Stripping a lot out of GURPS seems to be on par with TFT if I just need a simple rule set, and make table judgement calls. However, am I missing anything that GURPS brings to the table if I strip so much out?
I have never ran GURPS, and I am just starting to do small TFT games with family members, so I need recommendations.
Yet, I did find GURPS Ultra-Lite, and understand this is no way GURPS; however, it does provide a great rough template for rules, but allowing for table judgement calls.
