Even in a mundane setting you can have superstitions attached to the brand. Some users might avoid it because of a perception that simply having one makes it more likely you'll wind up needing to use it, while others may flock to it due to a perception that if you're ever in a situation where you need to use a weapon, it is nearly guaranteed to be available and work for you.
Mechanically, the weapons would all be Very Reliable, being at no risk of Malfunction unless lack of maintenance and/or abuse has decreased their Malf number. It probably goes a step further, and means that maintenance is only necessary if the item is in frequent use (a rifle on the mantelpiece normally still calls for maintenance unless it's in a sealed container; a Chekov's Rifle on the mantelpiece would not). This would probably be readily achievable with a treatment similar to Buzz Fabric (UT39).
