Okay, if that is a hard line I do not think I will be a good fit. Pregens without quirks selected are something I very much do not like and do not want to play

Could you please tell me why? Quirks, more than disadvantages, are defined by the personality of the character. I'm willing to wait a couple of months so the players can add quirks of their own.

If you wish, I'll add quirks, though it will be pretty random. I'm not you and can't guess what YOU would like.

For example "Hates Bagpipes" would have worked for all but two of my players, who love it. "Hates French Food" might be a problem for some. These quirks indicate important parts of the character's background.

If you really want, I'll choose them for you.

In the templates, you are charging a reduced cost for TBaM when combined with Weapon Master, which makes sense with the overlap.

Have you checked out Chritopher R Rice's "build your own" version? It is not RAW, but I have used it in quite a few games now. I love it.

For example, I have a "Ultimate" Martial Artist with a custom version that essentially combines heroic thrower, heroic archer, TBAM and Weapon Master all in one, while reducing haste penalties including the penalties for the cinematic martial arts with 10 second activations (which should probably be a small , not a medium group, but they are very potent:


"Martial Mastery"
Cinematic Skill Access (Large Group): 5 points [5]
Common Penalty Reduction - All Parries (Medium Group): 10 points [10]
Common Penalty Reduction - All Rapid Strikes (Medium Group): 10 points [10]
Common Penalty Reduction - All Haste Penalties (Medium Group): 10 points [10]
Common Penalty Reduction - Quick shooting bows, Remove Penalty (x2) (Single Task) 2 points [2]
Common Penalty Reduction - Rapid Strike with Throwing Art (Single Task) 1 point [1]
Enhanced Benefit - Full Accuracy Bonus for Bow without Aim (Single Skill) 1 Point [1]
Enhanced Benefit - Full Accuracy Bonus for Throwing Art without Aim (Single Skill) 1 Point [1]
Enhanced Benefit - WM Damage Bonus to all Muscle Powered Weapons (Large Group): 15 Points [15]

A - It makes the pre gen not so much pre gen as some assembly required

B - they are very helpful for getting a feel of a character, especially for one you didn't make yourself

C - they are the highest effort to value things in the game and if I am wanting to play a pre gen I definitely don't want to come up with quirks. I sometimes struggle and just forfeit the points and quirks on characters I come up with whole cloth, coming up with quirks for character I didn't make is a bridge to far

I'll think about which quirks the character should have.

In the next couple of months you aren't satisfied with one or more of the quirks I give you, you can change them.

Notes on engineer (Scott DeLoach)-- I just transferred him over to GCS.

  • Code of honor (Professional) should be [-5], not [-10], was that intentional?
  • The Mechanic specialties are a little confusing: is the M-Drive not the same thing as FTL? And are they not covered in the starship specialty?
  • Are Gyrocs all good to go ahead and buy with cash? How are we doing Gear here?
  • He has a psi-sword but no skill with it, is that intentional?
  • The provided sheet doesn't have QN on it. What's the QN for the engineer?
  • He's paid 5 points for his will to be the same as IQ, both 14. What's going on there? Is related to QN?
  • The points summary on the second page doesn't match the total points spent, but the unspent points appears to be right at the top of the sheet. That's not too concerning, I guess.
  • I know 50 points of Psi are coming... is that part of the unspent 35 or something else? What's the point total, split by bucket?

Hello, I apologize for disappearing,

TLDR: Got covid, got hospitalized, getting better. Please get vaccinated (on the other hand, I had all my shots, and still got the plague). The pandemic is not over except in the public's mind.

On the other hand, I have some new ideas and will start the game next week, if people are still willing to play. If not, I understand.

I think we still have to figure out PSI, but I'm still down for playing.
