Yup. I started there in fact - didn't work for what I was doing so I excised it. Though that approach remains perfectly valid for those that want to use it. That's the point of this book - you can use it with most of the build systems and it'll work just fine.

Can you show a few example items using the meta tech system, such as Aladdin's flying carpet and power armour from the Fallout series as teasers?

I can actually! I can't sure you what's in the BOOK itself (you'll need to get that on the 27th), but sure. First five folks in can make up to three suggestions (or let's say up to a total of 15 suggestions later if for someone reason you only wanted to put one down). After that I'll start point together as many of them as I can with the new supplement! Some rules:
  1. Nothing crazy complex - I'd love to spend the time to stat out a Mech Warrior mech, but the time I spend doing that I could probably pop out 3-4 other items.
  2. Even if you think I know the particular item or IP it's from please provide me a link to said item and then using bullet points be specific on important traits of the item. Note, this is just fan speculation! We're not trying to claim any IP here - just goofing off and having fun and testing out some new rules for our favorite game engine.
  3. Nothing that would violate forum policy - so keep it PG-13 friendly!

Okay. That's it. I'll check back tomorrow.

• The Guilded Age webcomic had a bard who had an axe that doubled as a melee weapon and a musical instrument/sonic attack. How would Meta-Tech handle that?
• As I mentioned before, how would you do Crescent Rose from RWBY?
• On the subject of transforming gear, how about a motorcycle that turns into a battlesuit?

A sword that - for copyright reasons - glows red when orcs are nearby.

How about the Prydwen, Arthur's magical boat that could sail to the Otherworld?

Lamp that summons a genie, who will grant one wish to each peron who rubs it, but no more than one wish per person, ever.

Bagpipes that, played by the hands of one with at least DX 13, cause Cowardice (control rating 9) in enemies within 100 yards who can hear, and can instill Bloodlust in friends within 20 yards who can hear.

A TV remote that lets you decide which characters live and die in a movie you haven't seen before. But if you press the button too soon the actor will die in real life.
