Assuming it can, of course. Or to put it another way, how much DR does it have? Typically only orichalcum can damage it.

Whose version? As a purely fictional material it can do whatever you need it to for the purposes of the plot, and should you need it to be different for the next plot, well, clearly tiny variations in percentages of carbonite in the alloy, or a few parts per million contamination with red kryptonite, changes the properties drastically....

If it's actually diamond-like it might ignite at c. 1000 C the way diamond does.
If it's more like a regular sort of rock that jsut happens to be as hard as diamond it might have no ignition point and jsut turn into lava at a high enough temp. Or if the magic part is domiant it might something magical instead of burning or melting.

the version I am using is from 4e and is created with essessential earth and earth to stone. orichalcum is essential earth and earth to metal. in DFRPG Kromm says a stupid amount of energy woyld be needed to cast these permanently.
I just found it on Appendix Z for golem creation- Adamant has 12 DR and Orichalcum has 14 |

So you need a 4d fire to put a dent in it. Wood fires burn at 1100 degrees (F) and do 1d damage. This would suggest maybe 4 times that - 4400 degrees (F).

1100°F is 593°C, which is 866 K. Multiplying that by 4 gives 3464 K, which is 3193°C or 5779°F. So 5800°F is a plausible approximation.

There really isn't any justification for assuming that GURPS DR is meaningfully associated with temperature; energy weapon damage appears to be based on energy deposition per unit area, which is only very loosely correlated with temperature.

Agreed. This comes completely from my nether regions. But it starts the conversation.
