Default Wow! Hexagram Vault. Big Oopsie!

I just received my Hexagram Vault in the mail that I have been eagerly waiting for and I suddenly realized my mistake. When I ordered it I was looking to see which Hexagrams and other accessories I still needed to order. When I saw this I made the mistake of thinking that it would include the 10 Hexagrams that it says it holds. I already have purchased 3 of them in pdf, but I thought that having the printed ones in a box would be ok (and the price made it sound like a really good deal). I have those 3 printed out on letter-size sheets, and of course, they will not fit in the vault, so considering the price and shipping, I ended up paying close to $30 for a piece of printed die cut cardboard that I don't need and honestly don't even want. I'd like to ask for a refund, but I don't want to spend any more money on shipping. Caveat emptor, I guess. I just successfully pitched a Fantasy Trip campaign to my gaming group, but I think that was a wasted effort, too. Needless to say I am far more disappointed than I expected to be. Whatever.

I've already bought everything twice! First time back in the late '70s (I might have missed a couple of the adventure modules that came in folders, but I have EVERYTHING else, including the GM screen), and recently the legacy edition (I've been making an 8-panel DIY GM screen out of canvas boards, white duct tape, and sheet protectors, and fighting with the pdfs to print out individual pages for the panels). Maybe I'll try D&D.

We've all been there... well, anyone who's been playing RPGs for 30 to 40 years. Don't give up, though. Even with a $30 mistake, TFT is likely going to be the cheaper option.

PDFs are great, but sometimes shelling out for the printed material is worth shelling it. Duplication is a drag, but extras can go out to members of one?’s game group.

I’d be interested why you think this might be a wasted effort.

May be a bit late now but the still open for late pledges KS for Hexagram 12 has a option for all 12 + vault for $125. Another option provides #12 + 5 others of your choice.

If your group is already set for TFT, no reason to change now. Maybe one of your players would be happy to take the vault off your hands.

Yeah. I didn't really care about the box (the only thing I ended up with) and was perfectly fine with any redundancy (I actually discovered that I have 4 pdfs - I hadn't printed one out yet). I have reverted to my original plan of just buying one or two Hexagrams (pdfs) when I feel like it and get around to it instead of a whole bunch all at once. There are other things on my shopping list besides TFT stuff (see: the inherent competition of Capitalism).

Simple frustration and the usual accompanying discouragement.
