That's how I'd implemented it in my spreadsheet, without really noticing the issue at the time - DM last. (I'm a former research mathematician and teacher of 20 years, with unusually good mental arithmetic even for that, and it's still quicker to put it in the tablet even if everybody has DM 1...)
Speaking of which, I'm very tempted to try to do something a tiny bit more realistic. It always bugged me that a fully loaded pickup came off equally to a skinny mid or heavy compact. I'd probably do change of speed for damage (doubling up on the dice chart to keep it in the right area for game balance), and treat them as low elasticity collisions, using mass to the nearest thousand pounds. Prohibitively tedious by hand, but if I'm using a phone anyway, no reason why not.
